Linda lived in her car with her 12-year-old daughter. Getting her ready for school every day was a process—carrying a small bag of hygiene supplies and relying on public restrooms before the day even started. At night, they did homework by flashlight.
They entered our Bridge Housing Program, which gave them temporary hotel shelter while Linda met weekly with our team to secure full-time employment, develop a sustainability plan, and save enough money to contribute toward her move-in costs.
Linda’s steady persistence through the process meant that after 11 weeks in the program, she and her daughter moved into their own apartment. Now, homework can be done at a desk, and the bathroom is just in the next room. They have a safe, stable place to call home, and the foundation for their future.
A little more hope in your inbox.
