Thank you for your generous donation!
You don’t have to write a check to make a difference. In-kind donations — everyday items like food and clothing — go directly into the hands of our neighbors in need.
Here’s how it works:
Option 1: Donate items you already have
If you have gently used or new items around the house, we’d love to put them to good use. Our most-needed items include:
- Men’s jeans (especially smaller adult sizes)
- Plastic bags
- Luggage
- Sleeping bags
- Tennis Shoes (especially sizes 9.5 – 12)
Option 2: Next time you’re in the grocery store, pick up some items for us.
Our pantry can always use more of the following items:
- Bottled water
- Vienna sausages
- Cup o’noodles
- Cheese crackers
- Peanut butter crackers
- Tuna snacks
- Apple sauce
- Cereal bars
- Protein bars
- Beef jerky
We also have an amazon wish list with other items we like to offer our clients!
Option 3: Organize a drive and build a kit.
Want to do something bigger? Gather your coworkers, congregation, neighbors, or friends and put together a drive. We have four kit types that are easy to organize:
- Welcome Home Kit — When a neighbor transitions into housing, they often start with nothing. Cleaning supplies and household basics help turn a new space into a real home.
- Little Neighbor Pack — The little ones in our community need care too. Essentials like children’s hygiene items and child-friendly snacks go directly to families navigating hard seasons.
- Share a Meal— A simple sandwich can mean the world to a neighbor who hasn’t eaten today. Help us provide take-away bagged sandwiches so no one leaves hungry.
- Hygiene Kit — Basic personal care items like soap, deodorant, and a razor, help our neighbors feel clean, confident, and ready to face the day with dignity.

At the SRC, we provide hot showers for our clients. In doing so, we quickly run out of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream, combs, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwash.
We also believe that nobody deserves to go without clean clothes. While we appreciate every donation, we do go through some items faster than others. Since the majority of our clients are men, we are always in need of jeans sizes 28 to 34, clean underwear (medium and large) as well as Large T-shirts. We have a high demand for walking and tennis shoes in all sizes. But, we find that shoes sized 9.5 to 12 are difficult to obtain.

Samaritan Resource Center (SRC) is a drop-in resource center serving individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness in East Orange County.
As a faith-based organization, we provide compassionate, housing-focused support through case management, mental health counseling, healthcare, employment services, street outreach, and daily access to essential resources such as meals, clothing, showers, laundry, mail services and hygiene supplies—helping our neighbors take the next step toward stability and self-sufficiency.
