Frankie came to us as a single father carrying a lot: the weight of personal loss, a period of housing instability, and a young daughter depending on him for everything. But from the very first day, he showed up with something powerful. Determination.
He kept every appointment and engaged fully in case management. He asked hard questions and did the hard work. From the beginning, it was clear that he wasn’t just hoping for change. He was committed to building it.
Walking alongside his case manager, he built a real budget, one that reflected his actual life. He maintained steady employment, grew his savings, and drew on every resource available to him, including survivor benefits for his daughter and his tax refund. He put it all toward a future, not just the next month.
The road had its share of obstacles. Past evictions and family-related financial pressures could have derailed him. But Frankie stayed focused. He participated in Financial Empowerment Coaching, explored community resources for his daughter, and kept his eyes on what mattered most: giving her stability.
He didn’t rush the housing search. He weighed his options carefully, worked closely with our housing navigator, and chose what he could genuinely sustain. When approval came, he was ready. He moved in with savings in hand, a clear budget, and a sense of confidence he had earned step by step.
Today, Frankie and his daughter have a home. For them, it’s not just a place to sleep, but a foundation for everything that comes next. With it, they have routine and stability. Frankie has the quiet dignity of knowing he built something real for his daughter.
Frankie’s story is an example of what happens when a neighbor is met with dignity, genuine support, and the space to rise. This is the work you make possible. Thank you for walking alongside our neighbors.
