Sabrina experienced homelessness for seven years while living in the woods with her dog.
 
Our street outreach team met Sabrina when she was and helped identify the obstacles she was facing. As a first step, we helped her obtain new IDs since hers had been lost. Sabrina also had medical needs, so our team brought a nurse practitioner directly to her through our street medicine partnership with True Health.
 
Our team continued to provide personalized care, transportation, problem solving, resource navigation, and referrals to community services. We kept showing up, right where Sabrina was. Most importantly, when the timing was right, we connected her to the community resources that would best support her housing goals.
 
Sabrina ended up qualifying for Permanent Supportive Housing! What once felt so far from her reach became a reality. Sabrina is now permanently and safely housed in her own home with her dog.

Samaritan Resource Center (SRC) is a drop-in resource center serving individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness in East Orange County.

As a faith-based organization, we provide compassionate, housing-focused support through case management, mental health counseling, healthcare, employment services, street outreach, and daily access to essential resources such as meals, clothing, showers, laundry, mail services and hygiene supplies—helping our neighbors take the next step toward stability and self-sufficiency.
