When Jose* was referred to us September 2020 he had been homeless for  the last 2 years. With a history of mental illness, he had been sleeping in an abandoned car and, most recently, at the airport. Jose had been receiving SSDI up until September when his benefits suddenly stopped. The SRC assisted Jose in communicating with the SSA, gathering his medical records, and putting together a complete packet which was forwarded to SSA. Jose’s benefits were finally restored in December! Moreover, he is now housed and living in Okeechobee, FL. We were thrilled when he stopped by last week to thank us and report that he will be purchasing a car. Praise God!!!
